I'm sick and I think it's mold. Can your tests confirm that?

Our tests can confirm the presence and species of mold, mycotoxin levels, and indoor air quality conditions in your home — that's our scope. We are environmental testers, not physicians. The connection between an environmental finding and your symptoms is a clinical judgment your medical team makes using our environmental report plus their own diagnostic workup. We provide our report in a format your physician's office can review.

What's the difference between mold air sampling, ERMI dust, and mycotoxin testing?

Air sampling (spore-trap) measures airborne mold spore concentration at a moment in time — useful for identifying current exposure. ERMI dust sampling analyzes settled dust DNA for mold species that have been present over weeks-to-months — useful for chronic exposure assessment. Mycotoxin testing detects mold-produced toxins (via ELISA or LC-MS) in dust or urine — useful when symptoms persist despite remediation. We recommend the testing combination based on your situation at intake.

Will the report be reviewed by a credentialed industrial hygienist?

Health-concern reports are reviewed by a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) before delivery. Our CIH reviewer signs off on test methodology, sample handling, and reasonable interpretive language. This is the standard for YMYL (Your Money or Your Life) testing in our practice — environmental data without expert interpretation is incomplete.

Do you do CIRS-protocol testing?

Yes. We perform ERMI dust sampling and HERTSMI-2 scoring per the Shoemaker and Brewer protocols. If your treating physician follows CIRS protocols, we provide test results in the format their office uses. We do not provide medical opinion on CIRS diagnosis — that remains with your treating clinician.

After the test, what happens if mold is found?

You receive an independent report identifying species, location, and approximate exposure levels — plus a scoped remediation work plan you can give to any qualified mold remediation contractor. Per NYS DOL Article 32, we cannot perform both assessment and remediation, so we refer remediation to vetted third parties. After remediation, we return for independent clearance testing.
